My daughter is 9 months old and I do my best to make all of her baby food. I try to create mini versions of what the big ones are eating so she doesn’t feel left out. This Meatless Monday she had baby versions of our breakfast and dinner. There will be many more baby food recipes to come.
Container number one (from left to right) has adzuki beans, quinoa, and bananas.
Cook quinoa per package instructions
Soak adzuki beans overnight. Add fresh water. Boil. Simmer until tender.
Put adzuki beans and quinoa in a food processor or baby food maker. Pulse until desired consistency. Mash in banana.
Container number 2, black rice, and spinach.
Cook black rice per package instructions. Use veggie broth instead of water and add chopped onions.
When rice is done add rice and steamed spinach to food processor or baby food maker. Pulse until desired consistency is reached. You may need to add water or breastmilk.
Container number 3, mango oatmeal
Cook steel cut oats per package instructions. Add a bit of cinnamon to the water as it cooks.
Cut a mango. Purée it in a food processor or baby food maker.
Once oatmeal is cooked, add to mango purée and pulse until desired consistency is reached.
I don’t have measurements on here as the servings were family sized. I just took her portion out before adding spices or additions to the grain portion of our meal.
