Toys that mommy can’t have. The Bathsphere.

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I so want one!

ohhhhhhhhhhhhh I so want one!

This thing is pretty freakin awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I have no idea how much it cost or where to get it but my goodness it looks amazing.  It’s the kind of thing that as a parent with small children you think to yourself, how bad do I want this and how angry will I be when the glass has a crack in it because my son was riding his bike in the house?  Or the drain is clogged because Iron man is stuck in  because he was trying to recuse the lego that went down first?  Or when I get in and it’s programmed to smell like cinnamon and it smells like pee because my son has peed in the smell dispenser. It’s those thoughts that make me say even if I could afford it, for the wellbeing of my child I should not get it.

BATHSPHERE is a concept shower cabin created by Alexander Zhukovsky, which not just allows to enjoy the attractive visual design, but gives opportunity to change attitude  to the whole process of shower taken.

Bathroom space can be perceived as membrane between aggressive contemporary world and home’s quietness, place where we began and finish every our day. Based on a concept “space-in-space” BATHSPHERE construct separate area with unique atmosphere. Rain simulation, temperature, humidity, light, sound and smell control turn on senses and change mood.
Hanging glass construction mold a feeling of weightlessness.

While the lines between the bathing space and the bedroom are getting blurry by the day, its great to see how designers are modifying their approach towards the task of daily ablutions. We have here the Bathsphere, which is a glass-bubble kinda suspended sphere. It allows you to create your own mood and unwinding space. You can simulate rain; change the temperature inside the ball, humidity, light, sounds and even smells. Pretty awesome!

to tempting for a kid NOT to play in

to tempting for a kid NOT to play in

For now I will just look and admire and be sad, and every 27th day of the month think about trading my child for the bathsphere.
